Minister for Industries and Law, P. Rajeeve, announced a series of bold policy initiatives aimed at establishing the state as a global hub for generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI). This announcement was made during the closing session of the two-day International Gen AI Conclave, held at the Grand Hyatt in Kochi.
The conclave, a pioneering event organized by the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) in collaboration with IBM, highlighted Kerala's commitment to advancing AI technology. Rajeeve revealed that the state has recognized AI as a priority sector in its industrial policy and will introduce a dedicated AI policy this fiscal year that aligns with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals.
The new policy will offer support and incentives to bolster existing infrastructure and foster a forward-looking AI ecosystem in Kerala. This initiative marks a significant step in the state’s vision to become a leading global center for AI innovation.
