The availability of public charging infrastructure is expanding rapidly, although it's not yet as ubiquitous as traditional gas stations. Moreover, EVs offer environmental benefits with zero tailpipe emissions and potential life-cycle emissions advantages, depending on the electricity source. As battery longevity improves and costs decrease, EVs are increasingly becoming a viable and economical choice for sustainable mobility.

Research & Development

To accelerate the transition towards electric vehicles (EVs) and foster a robust ecosystem for their development and adoption, our state is embarking on comprehensive initiatives encompassing manufacturing, infrastructure, and research and development (R&D). At the forefront of this endeavor is the establishment of a state-of-the-art plug-and-play EV manufacturing facility, including an advanced battery manufacturing unit catering to various vehicle types, from two-wheelers to heavy vehicles. Complementing this, a specialized financial scheme will incentivize the development of EV infrastructure, including swapping stations, to bolster the EV ecosystem. Additionally, pivotal facilities such as the Energy Storage Hub, Drivetrain Hub, Power Electronics Hub, and Drivetrain Testing Lab will be instituted to facilitate R&D, driving innovation and design in the EV sector. This initiative also entails the formation of an Electric Vehicle Consortium aimed at exploring cutting-edge technologies in electric mobility. Furthermore, dedicated grants will support research institutions focused on electric mobility solutions and EV components, while a Center of Excellence for EV will offer comprehensive facilities for advancing various aspects of EV technology, from battery systems to charging infrastructure. This holistic approach underscores our commitment to nurturing a conducive environment for EV manufacturing, infrastructure development, and technological innovation within the state.
